If i were the principal for a day, I would implement the following modifications:
Upskilling: In today’s world, professional skills are integral to success. There are numerous skills such as entrepreneurship, graphic design, programming, and many more. Workshops can be conducted to initiate students into these fields. This would allow them to explore alternative career paths beyond traditional jobs.
Peer Teaching: In every class, some students understand concepts faster than others, who may find them challenging. To bridge this gap, students who understand concepts quickly can help teach those who are struggling. This was a foundational method of learning in our ancient Gurukuls. Such peer teaching can enhance understanding for both groups.
360-Degree Rankings: School rankings are currently based solely on academic performance, which should change. Rankings should reflect the overall development of a student throughout the academic session. This would reduce unhealthy competition based on marks and promote a more behaviour-oriented approach to student growth.
